What You'll Find Here

I post daily (photos of my journal pages, things that inspire me and personal bits and pieces) to inspire and encourage others. I have always believed that if I can do it, so can you.

You'll find resources (my favorite supplies, books, slideshows of my art journal pages, favorite bloggers, etc...) listed along the right hand side of my blog.

I've been teaching both in person and online workshops for almost twenty years now. You can find out more about my classes by scrolling down along the right hand side of my blog. I strive to make classes accessible to everyone (both beginner to advanced).

I love teaching and truly believe that deep down inside everyone is an artist, capable of creating something. There is power and knowledge in the act of creating something with your own hands, made from your own heart and head.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at EGorey99@sbcglobal.net

Good Morning from San Diego Comic Con Day 2

Good morning from San Diego! Above are the goodies that I bought last night, Barron Storey's latest book of his journal pages, an empty paint marker (which I immediately filled) and the acrylic ink from Holbein. I love their paints so I am very excited about their newly formulated acrylic ink.

I'm hoping for some time to dive into Barron's book as well as a few minutes to play with the new acrylic ink in the paint markers while we're waiting in line. I'll post my thoughts as soon as possible.

In the meantime, I'll be posting to Instagram throughout the day.

August 2017 Workshops

Here is my list of classes for 2017.

I'm ALWAYS looking for new teaching venues so if you know of any that may be interested, I'd love to hear. I have taught a wide range of ages from individuals to small groups to large gatherings. I have held classes at stores, museums, backyards, garages, studios, public and private schools as well as private homes. I also am available for teaching home schooling art classes.

My workshops are always process-based learning while creating a unique product. I am well known for not traveling light and bring a large variety of supplies including (but not limited to) collage material, rubber stamps, stencils, pens, markers, tape and more.

Please note the small supply list for each class.

If you're not near where I'll be teaching, but you're interested in taking a class, I do offer a variety of online classes (27 different online workshops as of March 2015.) You can find out more info on the right side of my main blog.

Thank YOU for your interest!

MORE TBA in 2017!

I hope to see you there!

Visiting The Fogg Museum at Harvard Cambridge, MA

On June 19th, I visited the Fogg Museum at Harvard in Cambridge, MA. I had a very limited time frame (about an hour) so I was only able to see one floor. Here are some of my favorite paintings from that trip.

a double sided painting by Picasso

Van Gogh

more Matisse

Rubenstein and LeBrun

Smullyan Sloan

I loved how intimate the museum was and how unlike many of the other museums I visited, it was quiet. There were times when I was the only person in the gallery and I cherished every moment. I am looking forward to visiting the museum again.

A New Book

Amazing how nothing can be transformed into something. The idea of a new journal is scary to some while invigorating to others. I am eager to see what develops on these new pages.
